The clocks have gone forward and the weather is starting to to get warmer, so it’s a great time to get your kids to try on and take stock of their summer school uniforms in preparation for the summer term. Last year most children were being home-schooled so the uniform bought for them then may no longer fit.
There’s no need to panic though if you’ve left it to the last minute – we’ve got it covered below with our guide to the key uniform products you’ll need for keeping your kids cool during the warmer months.
Short-sleeved shirts and blouses
With warmer weather (hopefully) on its way, it’s out with long sleeves and layers and in with short sleeves and t-shirts. We have a large range of boys and girls shirts and blouses, including polo shirts, which are designed to be comfortable yet smart. Girls shirts come in a range of collar styles, and for both sexes many of the shirts are non-iron so they’ll stay looking smart without you having to plough through a huge ironing pile on a Sunday night. We also offer a unisex polo shirt, which comes in a full range of colour options.
Skirts and shorts
Your children might decide to start wearing shorts for school at this time of year, and just like our trousers, our junior boys shorts are designed to cope with the rough and tumble of school life. They’re stain-resistant and have an elasticated back waistband, which helps provide both comfort and room for growth. Girls may choose to wear skirts all year round, but in case your daughter needs an update, we stock a wide range of girls’ skirts for both juniors and seniors in numerous styles and colours, so she can choose the kind she prefers.
Summer PE activities might differ a bit from winter ones and our range of PE kit items are suitable for both indoor and outdoor sports. From shorts and skorts to hoodies and tracksuit bottoms, our items are clearly marked whether for boys, girls or unisex to help you choose. Our long sports socks also come in a range of colours if you have specific school uniform colour requirements.
Remember, we also provide handy size guides for all your school uniform needs, so if you’re unsure about your what might fit your growing child for any item, just visit our size guide page. There’s even an easy print-at-home measuring tape in case you don’t have one.
The weather can be unpredictable in early spring, so although your kids may be in shorts and skirts, they might want to swap between long and short socks or still wear tights. Jumpers can also be on and off throughout the day, often substituting for football goalposts, so make sure you have enough name tape in case they end up in lost property. Check out our accessories page where our stock varies from socks and tights to hair bobbles, to name tags and water bottles.
