Here at Trutex we take our commitment to the environment and future generations very seriously, and one of our key areas of focus is to try and reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfill.  That’s why last year we partnered with charity, Giving World, to provide a enviromentally friendly way of distributing our end-of-line stock that avoided sending it to landfill.

Giving World is an award winning UK charity with a distribution platform that enables them to quickly and efficiently distribute items to a targeted range of vulnerable and needy people.

A spokesperson for Trutex said: “We are proud to be the first UK carbon neutral school wear company. We are committed to help build a sustainable future for generations to come. That’s why we’ve partnered with Giving World for our excess stock to be re-used by people in need at home and abroad. Giving World offered a completely managed solution. We were able to move the stock quickly and directly to those families and children who genuinely cannot afford quality school wear. We are pleased to have helped communities and those in need in an efficient way for our business by using Giving World and are delighted that our surplus stock was used in this way and not wasted. And through our online Giving World account we can see at a glance where our donation has been distributed.”

Trutex’ donation has helped children and families in the UK and overseas, including:

  • Parents of children with autism spectrum condition in Staffordshire, who were delighted to receive this extra help.
  • Families who have found themselves unable to fund new school uniform for their children due to unexpected changes in their financial situation.
  • Asylum seekers living within the UK struggling to afford new clothes for their children.
  • And overseas, many schools across West Ghana will see their students benefit from warm school clothing in the winter months.
