Keeping Our Staff Safe

Our staff are working hard to provide a great service to our customers in these uncertain times.  Our ongoing priority is keep all our staff safe during Covid-19 and to do this we have implemented the following changes.  This may mean that it takes us a little longer to pick, pack and despatch customer orders but rest assured we are doing all we can to keep this to a minimum.

Social Distancing

Our warehouse team are working on site and are adhering to the 2 metre social distancing.  We have visual markers within the warehouse to keep staff working at a safe distance.  We have extended our operating hours and staggered shift and break times to reduce the number of staff entering and exiting the building and accessing communal areas at the same time.

Our office staff are working from home where possible to keep numbers within the office at a minimum to help with social distancing and adherence to the 2 metre rule.  Managers are in regular contact with their team to ensure staff are happy, able to work and feel connected whilst teams are working remotely.

Meetings are held online where possible with face to face meetings kept to a minimum and social distancing adhered to

Hygiene

We have increased cleaning measures throughout the day and focus on regular touch points such as door handles, kitchen surfaces and toilets.

Staff are adhering to good hygiene measures, regularly washing hands, using hand sanitiser and avoiding physical contact.  PPE including disposable gloves and face masks are available for any staff wishing to use them.

Staff are required to conduct a non-contact temperature check on arrival to the site.  Anyone measuring a reading of 37.8C or above is required to go home immediately and follow the self-isolation rules.

Self Isolation

All staff are aware that they must not come into work if they, or anyone in their household, are displaying symptoms relating to Covid-19.  Staff are required to follow the government guidance on self-isolation or test and trace as appropriate.  Anyone identified as high risk or shielding will remain at home, working where possible.

Staying Connected

We communicate regularly with all our staff to let them know what is happening across the business and to ensure they know that we are here for them when they need our support.  It is a challenging time and we know that some of our staff may be finding things difficult.  We are also supporting our working parents with flexibility whilst schools are closed and home schooling is in place.

Working with our suppliers

At Trutex we believe in working fairly and responsibly with all our suppliers. We have long standing relationships with many of our Tier 1 factories and communicate with them on a regular basis.

At this difficult time around the World we have continued to honour our current contracts on goods in work and finished goods with all of our suppliers. Due to the changes in market demand we have had to adjust our supply chain planning resulting in a small percentage of future orders being cancelled or rescheduled. However all rescheduled or cancelled orders have been fully discussed with our suppliers and we have worked on a local basis to manage any raw materials that had been ordered in preparation for these, to prevent any party being exposed to undue costs or liabilities.

Our Trutex UK and In Country staff are in close contact with factories and managing the supply chain as we navigate through this global crisis in line with local regulations and health & safety requirements. Our main aim is and has always been the safety and wellbeing of the workers and our staff coupled with the ability to keep the business going through this period and beyond.
