We are committed to sustainability – from how we design and manufacture our garments to being a carbon neutral business since 2012, reducing our cabon usage and offsetting carbon used to verified gold standard schemes.

Here we explain a little more about all the things we do, to demonstrate our care for the environment and how we are reducing our business impact. Made to Last

All our uniform is "Made to Last" - a performance and ethical committment that has been a core part of our oganisation throughout its history. We do not provide fast fashion that is disposed of at the next season, our uniform is consistent in colour, care and construction. Often Trutex uniform is grown out before worn out and passed to siblings for another years wear or sold through second hand uniform shops. Read more about our quality practices here

Carbon Neutral

Carbon offsetting is a way to mitigate the carbon we use as a business, generating back positively in the environment. 

We have been carbon neutral since 2012 and are working towards reducing our carbon usage each year.

Eco Elite Renewably Sourced Finish

We use this more environmentally fiendly stain repellency finish for our trousers, shorts & skirts.

Sustainably Sourced

Sustainably sourced fabrics ensure the source of the yarn is a maintained source and the impact to the environment is as low as possible. Our blazers, trousers and some style of skirts use 100% recycled post-consumer polyester and sustainably sourced viscose. Our 100% cotton knitwear uses respnsibly sourced cotton.

100% Recycled Fabric

We’re pioneers in the use of polyester made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Our standard blazers (not Elements) use 100% recycled post-consumer polyester for the outer and inner fabric. Trousers (TLT, TSF, junior boys and TPT) use 100% recycled polyester and sustainably sourced viscose as well as the skirts using these fabrics (GPB, GSA, GPS)

Reducing Single Use Plastic

We are on a mission to reduce our single use plastics where we can and are committed to reducing their use by at least 50% by 2025.

Saving Plastic Bottles from Landfill

Thanks to our customers, we have saved over 14 million plastic bottles from reaching landfill in 2022. (this is based on units sold during 2022 of the products using recycled post consumer polyester; blazers, trousers and skirts)

Reducing Micro-Plastics

We are doing our bit to minimise the shedding of our products whilst retaining fabric quality and comfort. Our sweatshirts shed 60% less fabric than high street competitors meaning less micro-plastics end up in the world's oceans.
