Ethical Positioning
At Trutex we realise we have an obligation to go further than working towards our own financial success.
We feel it is our responsibility to ensure the growth and development of our supplying operations and their communities throughout the world.
We achieve this in a number of ways. Firstly through our Fairtrade cotton garments. These garments ensure farmers a better price for their cotton, meaning they can improve their farms, home and ensure their children stay on at school.
The Fairtrade price also includes a premium for investment in to social and environmental projects within their local community.
We also work towards the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, which are a set of principals against which our supplying companies are audited by an independent organisation. This ensures that their employees work in clean, safe environments for fair wages.
Areas that are analysed include:
- Child Labour
- Working Conditions
- Freedom of Association
- Wages
- Working Hours
- Discrimination
- Regularity of employment
Our policy is to only work with companies whose ethical position is consistent with our own high standards, and also, continually identify opportunities for further improvement.
